Literature Text

He said He loved Her,
But She wasn't sure She knew what love was.
She said She loved Him all the same.

He loved many Shes.
He said they all held his one heart.
She knew better.

She had heard His sad story,
A story from His past.
How His very first She
Was so cruelly taken from this world.

She knew His heart had been broken;
Shattered, even.
That was why He had more than one She.
He did not have one whole heart,
And each She received a piece of His broken heart,
To take care of as best they could.

Eventually, She came to realize that She did love Him.
She had a piece of His heart, and loved it with all Her might.
That meant She no longer had Her heart;
Whether willingly or un, He now had it.
He had Hers, along with many others.
She hoped He could really take care of all of them,
Like He promised He could.

As time went on, Things got harder for Her.

One of His She's heart was hurting.
She wasn't sure what to do.
And then another was hurting.
And another.

Being a kind soul, She wanted to heal all the hurt hearts.
So, She could only see one Solution.
A Solution that was sure to help the hurting hearts;
And it almost broke Hers to even think it.

She would share Her He,
The man who's piece of heart She cared for.

A very kind act, to be sure.
But She hadn't realized that, in doing this,
She had doomed her own heart.

The other She's and He had Songs.
A Song that meant something in their
Relationship.
He told Her which Songs they were.
Every time She heard one of those Songs,
She had to fight,
Hard,
To not cry.

She and He had no song.

He had all of Her heart,
But She only had a part of His.
He said He loved all His She's the same,
But She wondered how this could be true.
Nothing in nature breaks evenly.

She thought the piece she held was big.
At first.
But, there were times when They were together,
When He should have payed only Her attention,
Where He would Know another She was in pain.

Why didn't He Know when She was in pain?
Why didn't He call Her in the middle of the night,
Somehow Knowing She was crying?
Why was it,
When He and She were They,
That He didn't notice that The Songs hurt Her?

On Her birthday,
She was sure,
That He would only give attention to Her.
Such was not the case,
As He had Known, and called another She.
That She was in pain, but didn't want to admit it.
That She and He argued, and His heart got hurt.

And She had to watch it all.

She cried that night.
Cried a lot,
Because He and all His She's were hurting,
No matter what She gave to help,
And since Her heart didn't have as much weight to it,
It often went ignored.

As time went on,
Situations sprang up,
And She and He saw each other less and less.
He would call less and less,
Until, one day,
He called no more.

More time passed, and She called Him,
To set up a time and place to say goodbye.
They gave back their things,
She tried not to cry, and, thinking it would make things easier,
She told him a Lie.

Much time has passed
Since She and He were They,
And She does not know how he feels
To this day.

She doesn't know if She still has Her piece,
Her piece of His broken heart.
But, somehow, She found she had Her own heart back.

It showed the signs of abuse and neglect,
With many cracks and an ugly brown color instead of red,
But she carries it with a smile on her face.

Why?

Because it was still whole.
And it still beat.
And it was still warm.
For She has Hope.
A simple story of how They became She and He.

I hope your brain didn't melt from confusion at the weirdness of this.

This little poem is 100% mine, no matter who anyone thinks the She and He are meant to represent.
